Since the Gezi protests in 2013, Turkish politics are scene to contentious events; the coup attempt of 2015, protests against degradation of workers rights that has left thousands dead and injured, popular protests for women's rights, repression and police violence, military involvement overseas and domestic insurgency, mass purges against public workers, trials that hamper the freedom of speech and the securitization of academics and journalists, destructive populism of the AKP that promotes a divisive tone in the public, electoral alliances, changes in the institutions, referendums and campaigns...

The list goes on and on...

While Erdogan's allies celebrated the decision of the Supreme Electoral Council (YSK) for the rerun of re-run of mayoral elections in Istanbul as a victory for “Turkish democracy” the CHP has accepted the rerun yet called for the results from previous elections including the national elections to be canceled as well.

In this blog post we wanted to archive some of the material that is used in opposition comics, slogans and election content where humour and hope were used to contest the controversial decision that was made by the YSK.

(The list will be updated.)
