Race & Class Radio is airing every 3 months and is focusing on the current issue of its journal published quarterly by SAGE and edited by the Institute of Race Relations in London.
The podcast-show is produced by Avery Gordon and Elizabeth Robinson and as the first show underlines it focuses on politically relevant articles on racism on empire and on globalization.
We have just listened the episode on Palestine, the significance and the message of murals from Bill Roston and found it very interesting, therefore decided to share it in our blog.
Being from Northern Ireland, Bill Roston was interested in revealing the themes of the murals in Gaza in his article "Messages of allegiance and defiance: the murals of Gaza"
He found that Israeli oppression, Palestinian resistance, martyrs, prisoners and Palestinian aspirations – in particular, freedom and statehood, and the right to return were the dominant themes in the murals yet the recording and the article tells the complexity, the divided opposition and a complex relationship that these mediums show.
Other recordings and the list of podcasts can be found at www.kcsb.org

Murals and its relationship with political devisions and race
Police Brutality
Politics of Northern Ireland
